Thank you

To all who helped set up/clear up at the December concert:

Peter Clarkson for programme and much more

Ann and James McKinnon, Janet, Dave for refreshments

Guest players who turn up on the day

Thank you to all who managed to take the difficult journey through the snow to get to the Christmas concert.  Joanne had to dig her car out and was determined to reach the venue. Keith Hyde had a long journey fraught with problems.

We do appreciate that for some this was not possible. Each were faced with their own situation due to the dangerous snow and ice conditions, and were really sorry they missed a concert which they had all looked forward to.

Orchestra’s President

We recently invited Sir Peter Maxwell Davies to be our President and he has very graciously accepted.

Concert admission prices

In order to encourage more of a family audience, the committee has agreed that accompanied children (up to age 16) will be admitted free. We hope this will make live classical and orchestral music more easily accessible to children and young people, who are our future audience.

Premises

If you know of a hall in the Salford area which would be suitable for our rehearsals, please let a member of the Committee know. Ideally the venue would be large enough to accommodate 40 players, have parking space, be available 52 Wednesdays of the year, 7-9.30 pm, and not be too costly.
